About Us

The School

Adelong Public School is situated in the historic gold mining rural town  of Adelong in the south-west slopes of New South Wales.  It was established in 1860 and presently draws student mainly from the town and surrounding farming properties. The professional and committed staff aim to work together with students, parents and the community to provide challenging, quality learning opportunities within a safe and tolerant school environment,

The Students

Adelong Public School has an enrolment of 95, with 42% female and 58% male. The enrolment details as at 1 August 2003 were:- K :15, Year 1: 10, Year 2: 15, Year 3: 10, Year 4: 19 Year 5:13, Year 6:13.

Students are organised into four composite classes comprised K/1, 1/2/3, 3/4 and 5/6. A Support Teacher Learning Teacher assists students in classes 4/5 and 5/6 for six hours per week.  A Reading recovery trained casual teacher conducts the Reading recovery program for Year one students for one hour per week.
