Countries competing in the 2004 Olympics

INTRODUCTION

In 2000 at the Sydney Olympic Games eighty countries were successful in winning medals. To prepare for the 2004 Athens Games you will find information about some of these countries to provide yourself with background information.

TASK

Each of you will collect the following data on those countries allocated to you. Country Name, Capital City, Location, Population, Area, Flag and Language. The flag image will need to be saved in your own folder on the network as a bitmap file.

Once the information is collected you will create a Data Base using Access and then produce a report.

STEP 3.

Use Access to create a Data Base. Enter your data and save to your folder.

STEP 4.

Create a Query showing the following fields: Country ID., Name, Capital and Population. Sort this data in ascending oder of population.

Create a Query to find those countries that speak English.

Create a Report showing "Name" and "Flag" and print this report so it will contribute to a class display of Countries competing at the 2004 Olympics.

EXTENSION

Indication are that 202 countries are actually competing at this years Olympic Games. See if you can find out who they are.
