Tweed Valley Banana Festival and Harvest Week

The Tweed Valley Banana Festival and Harvest Week is a festival to celebrate the growing of bananas in the Tweed Area.
The celebration consists of many events and a colourful street parade in which the floats are based on bananas.

THE EVENTS
The events include many
sporting activities such as:

        • marathons
        • cross-country
        • fun-runs
        • cycle races
        • soccer
        • rowing
        • billycart grand prix
        • golf
        • shooting
        • woodchopping

There are many displays including:

        • woodcraft
        • art
        • cooking demonstrations

And competitions such as, with prizes to be won, including:

        • cattle dog trials
        • cooking
        • art
        • banana counting
        • best decorated business premises

You shouldn't miss the crowning of the festival queens:

        • Miss Photogenic
        • Miss Personality
        • Charity Queen
        • Banana Festival Queen

Don’t forget the concerts, modelling and the famed appearance of Banana Jim and Sugar Sue, The Wiggles and the Big Dog and Miss Jenny Show.

The Tweed Valley BananaFestival ends with a spectacular fireworks display.

HISTORY
The Tweed Valley Banana Festival has been successfully running for 48 years and is the proud winner of several major tourism awards.
