ABOUT OUR PROJECT

Our intended audience is students and teachers in Years K - 6 worldwide.

The purpose is Kids Helping Kids Cope with Life
... because kids have to cope with teasing, bullying, arguments with friends, family upsets, school upsets, and lots of other HOT SITUATIONS !!
... we have written lots of COOL TIPS that try to help kids get the best out of life whatever the situation !!

Our team is made up of 12 Year 6 students from Bilambil Primary School on the far north coast of New South Wales, Australia.

Each person in the team made a page and some people also wrote their personal stories.

Our web pages were made using Adobe GoLive and Macromedia Fireworks was used to make the background picture.

The team talked to the other students in Year 6 about page ideas and cool tips.

Our team advisor is Mrs Eather ... our class teacher, who can be emailed here.

3	Introduction to Hot Topics - 2002 Annual Schools Web Design Awards
4	Meeting 1: Discussed ideas for a topic.
5	Meeting 2: Brainstormed and collected ideas for topic.
6	Meeting 3: Decided on Social Skills for our topic. Reason: We had been doing a Bullying program in class.
7	Meeting 4: Collected books, read and discussed ideas. Talked to the class: To find ideas and cool tips for hot situations.
8	Filled in guide sheets to organise our Hot Situations and Cool Tips.
9	Meeting 5: Read guide sheets and corrected them.
10	Meeting 6: Designed background for web pages.

DIARY TERM 2:
WEEK:

1	Learnt how to make web pages. Made a master page.
2	Made the web pages for Hot Situations, Cool Tips.
3	Finished Hot Situation webpages. Worked on Team Notes & Personal Stories.
4	Found Kids Help links. Sent permission to link emails. Uploaded pages and tested.
5	Final check of pages on internet. Got lots of stickers from Lorraine Wiseman at Life Education for linking to them!! Thank you Lorraine.

COMMENTS:

1	Deciding on a topic was really hard.
2	Finding time for meetings was difficult.
3	Designing the background was debatable but fun.
4	Making text fit in was frustrating.
5	The best tips came from our group and other kids in our class.
6	We hope other kids find our COOL TIPS really helpful for their HOT SITUATIONS.
