Bilambil Primary School lies approximately 10 kilometres south west of Tweed Heads and Coolangatta on the border of New South Wales and Queensland which are two of the eastern states of Australia.
That makes us very lucky because we get the best of both worlds living near the centre of two of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.
Both areas have rich hinterlands containing lush forests and prime agricultural land and are well known for their beautiful beaches, some of which are famous surfing destinations, like Kirra on the Gold Coast and Byron Bay in New South Wales.
Both areas cater for a large tourist market. The Northern Rivers area of New South Wales is one of the most beautiful areas in Australia and offers outstanding natural attractions with a focus on ecotourism. The Big Volcano offers a comprehensive guide to this area. The Gold Coast has many attractions including large shopping centres like Pacific Fair, theme parks like Dreamworld, Seaworld, Movieworld, Wet'N Wild and fauna parks like Currumbin Sanctuary .
In addition, in both areas, you can swim, surf, scuba dive, snorkel, sail, fish, sail board, bush walk, shop, visit the markets, go on tours, go for a drive and eat out in any of the hundreds of restaurants.
