3J
During Term One the students of 3J explored the topic 'Cycles in Our World' during science lessons. Below are some pictures and comments about the day.
Last Wednesday all the children in year three went to Bondi Beach because they were studying sea creatures, the water cycle and tides. We went to Bondi by bus.

After morning tea we went to the rock pools. Our guide Renee gave us challenges. One challenge was to find different coloured algae. It was great fun. Renee found a starfish and let everyone feel it. It felt really hard on its back. She also showed us how the starfish could turn over.

As we walked back from the rocks we saw the storm water pipe.

We talked about water and then we tested some water in the buckets to see if they were salt, fresh or mixed water.
Our next activity was to look at little aquariums. In them were starfish, crabs and sea snails.
Julia
In our aquarium we had a big crab.

I had a fantastic time at Bondi Beach. I liked playing the games and looking at the sea creatures in the rock pools.
