SRC meetings are conducted weekly. We have class meetings where issues are discussed and then the class representatives bring these suggestions to the SRC meetings. Through this forum, the students of Cammeray have a say in what matters to them.
Following are some of the items we have made changes to or made recommendations about.
The SRC was involved in looking at the building plans and the road safety issues such as the new turning area for Bellevue Street. We will be involved next year in the redesigning of more play areas as the building work concludes. We also suggested that lattice be placed along the sides of the demountables and also improvements to the toilets. These have been renovated and automatic air freshener units have been installed.
We had new locks and brighter lights installed in the boys toilets.
* We are now sponsoring a sun bear from the Zoo.
* We raised money for Cancer research.
* A mufti day was held to raise money for Safari, a child who was seriously burnt. He visiting Australia for medical treatment.
* We participated in the Madeleine and Allanah Foundation Buddy Bears Day and I Cammeray was chosen as the state launch school for this because of our great anti bullying program.
* We are also sponsoring a child through World Vision.
* SRC members assisted the P & C on fireworks night as well.
The Year 6 students have raised a substantial amount of money for our school. With the money raised new computer stools have been installed in our computer lab. We also had enough money to buy a disco ball.

Building
Canteen
Through our SRC meetings with input from all grades we have had an impact on some of the foods served at the canteen.
Through our discussions new lines were painted on the ground so children could line up more easily and this stopped the pushing too.
Sports
We organised for the small brick wall in the playground to be removed so that we could have a mini court area. We chose new basketball poles that can be used for netball and basketball, but these won’t be installed until after the first stage of the building work is finished. We also consulted with Mr Watson over choice of sports.
