Art, Years 9 & 10

ART in Years 9 & 10 is an ELECTIVE COURSE.

The course comprises of three component parts.

  • Making

  • Critical Study

  • Historical Study

nada.jpg (13118 bytes) It is an extension of Year 7 & 8 offering students the opportunity to specialise, select and extend their knowledge and experience.

Knowledge And Understanding

Understand that subject matter can be used to develop insights into aspects of the world and the that interpretations and evaluations of these are important elements.

Knowledge And Understanding

Produce artworks with a variety of insights into aspects of the world.

Knowledge And Understanding

Evaluate and explain, in oral and written accounts, the historical significance of subject matter in particular works at a certain time and over time also how particular forms, materials and techniques are used to represent ideas in different times and places.

The students begin to specialise in the subject matter of their artworks, their choice of materials and extend their critical and historical studies.

Visual Arts Process Diary

All students are required to keep a Visual Arts Process Diary for the duration of each course.   Their diary is used for planning and reflective purposes and provides evidences of the range of learning activities undertaken.
