Exploring Early Childhood |

Would you like to know more about the development of Children?
Then Exploring Early Childhood is for you?
Exploring Early Childhood is a 1 Unit course studied for 2 years. Students who satisfactorily complete the course in Year 11 and 12 will be eligible to be awarded the Advanced Child Care Certificate.
Year 11 Compulsory Course Content:
- Pregnancy
- Birth
- Child Development
- Toys and Play
- Discipline
Year 12 - 3 core options to be studied. Choices include:
- Nutrition for babies and Children
- Children with special needs
- Children's Literature
Assessment includes:
- A study of a child under 5 years which takes the form of a journal. This is collected twice per term
- A practical toy or game which is made at school
- Practical food preparation e.g. child's birthday cake
COSTS
- costs of materials and food items;
- $5 charge for written literature as no textbook is required
EXAMS
- No formal H.S.C. exam (but this subject is entered on your H.S.C. as a subject of study)
