Vocational Education

Vocational Education involves courses which have a particular industry focus and are offered as part of the curriculum in the senior years of schooling.
What are the features of Vocational Education?
- Courses are dual accredited by the NSW Board of Studies and the Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB)
- Credit transfer into TAFE and a growing number of traineeships
- Completion of module based courses which are recognised throughout Australia under the Australian Qualifications Framework
- Designed to meet industry training needs
- Knowledge, understanding and skills at industry training entry level
- Assessment of skills and knowledge is competency based
- Direct experience of the workplace and training Pathways in specific industry areas

As part of the Vocational Education programme, Cerdon offers two courses, Office Skills and Hospitality. We have formed links with two neighbouring Catholic boys schools, Delaney College at Granville and Newman College at Greystanes. As part of this link, year 11 students from these schools join our girls in lessons in these two subjects.
