Things to do in the Illawarra

Beaches	Lake Illawarra
The clear waters and clean ocean waves which draw hundreds to our shore every year. It has a temperate temperature which allows all year round surfing.	A beautiful lake for all water lovers. It is the centre of many activities such as fishing, snorkelling, swimming and sailing

The region's Basketball team stadium. The Local Team is called the Wollongong Hawks. They're in the National Basketball League (NBL). The Wollongong Entertainment Centre is also used for International concerts with such guests as Cold Chisel, The Beach Boys, America, Ronda Burchmore, The 4 Kinsman and the list goes on. (NBL)

Situated in Towradgi, Waves caters for both under and over 18 year olds. If you're looking for the coolest and cheapest way to have a good time Waves is the place for you. It usually has guest stars and DJ's appearing to perform for everyone's entertainment.

"Spring into Corrimal" is a local carnival which draws thousands of people to join in the celebration of spring. Everyone enjoys strolling along the road, tasting Indian and Asian foods, and brousing through the stalls. There is a parade with floats, classic cars, marching girls, Tai Kwon Do teams, and motorbike displays. Adding to the atmosphere are the jazz and brass bands, country and western singers and local celebrities.

St George Illawarra Dragons is a new team which formed after a merger with St George and the Illawarra Steelers at the end of last season. Their home ground is the WIN stadium.

The skate park is situated in Fairy Meadow. It's the hang out for the skaters, Bladers and BMX riders. There is a big cemented area which contains half pipes, rails, jumps and a bowl.

Located in Coniston it is an indoor rock-climbing centre. It has climbs which vary in level of difficulty: some for the first timers and some for the more experenced Climbers
