Introduce the research topic "If I Were Amish" to your students.

Then brainstorm the topic.

Develop mind maps similar to the ones on the linked pages which fall under the four topics:
    What would be my background and what would be my culture?
    What would it be like to live in an Amish family?
    What technology would I use?
    How much contact would I have with the outside world?

Talk to the students about The Information Process.
They have just completed the 1st of 6 steps - Defining. They are ready to start on the next steps - Locating and Selecting. Website links have already been found to help them Locate information. They will be using a notetaking sheet to help them Select information. Explain how you would like the information to be presented.

Divide your students into the 4 groups.

Hand out notetaking sheets, introduce the website and the searching can begin.
