The Rhinoceros has a tusk. It is 12 handspans tall.

Their enemies are people and cheetahs and leopards too.

The Rhinoceros is brown-grey.

Their habitat is beautiful, nice and grassy. The Rhinoceros needs water for their environment.

They eat grass and leafy twigs.

The following information was sent to us via email from Grade 2
Micklefield School, South Africa.

Rhinos are huge grey animals with thick skin and heavy barrel-shaped bodies. They have short strong legs. It looks a bit like a hippo.

Rhinos have one or two curved horns on the top of their noses.
Their eyes are small but their ears are large.

A rhino uses its horn as a dangerous weapon. It can kill a lion with it. A male rhino sometimes uses its horn to fight with another male rhino. Rhinos also use their horn to dig up soil to look for salt and other minerals.

There are 5 groups of rhinos in the world. 2 groups live in countries in Africa and 3 groups live in countries in Asia, like India.
