Oxley and Evans

John Oxley was a great Australian explorer who tried to find good land by following the Lachlan river. It ended in a swamp so he turned back. He then followed the Macquarie River but it ended in a swamp too .He decided to head towards the Coast. He crossed the Castlereigh River and soon found the rich Liverpool Plains which is south west of where Tamworth is now. He reached the Coast at Port Macquarie
