Elanora Medical Centre

We interviewed the people at the Elanora Medical Centre and this is what they said:

They studied for 8 years to become doctors and have continuing studies. They attend medical seminars arranged by the R.A.C.G.P.(The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.)

Dr Louisa Ahmed, M.B.B.S.
Dr Shabbir Ahmed, M.B.B.S.

They work from 8:00am - 7:00pm, and have worked in Elanora for 28 years.

They employ 2 - 3 staff.

The patient numbers vary from week to week.

The equipment that they use is acupuncture, ECG, suturing and general doctors' equipment. They use disposable instruments and also use computers.

They are members of the Australian Society of Acupuncture, members of the Manly - Warringah division of general practice and members of the Australian N.S.W. medical defence union.

The jobs the staff have to do are filing, computer downloading of pathology results, typing reports and accounts, telephone appointments and attending to patients.

The thing that is most enjoyable about their job is talking to patients.

The specialities are acupuncture, women's health and children's health.
