Captain Scott went to Antartica to do some science. He wanted to discover south Antartica. The journey started with his team. But captain Scott got there too late. He and his team started back to their hut but they did not make it - they died. Everything was left as it was - the ice froze it all.
ICE When winter comes the ice takes over the ocean. It freezes 10m thick. The only penguin to survive is the emporer penguin. All the other animals have to leave. The female emporer penguin goes away for 65 days leaving the male on his own to look after the egg. The male has to starve for 65 days. The male emporer penguins all move into a huddle to keep warm. They keep shuffling around so that no one is on the outside for too long. |
