DATE BORN : November 14th 1840

DIED: 1926

MONET PAINTED: Landscapes, contemporary scenes and he was very successful at exhibitions.

In his teens he started to paint seascape with a man called Eugene Louis Boudin.

PAINT STYLE: He rendered outdoor sunlight with a direct sketch-like application of bright colour. He also had strong destinctive strokes.

Monet was an impressionist artist which (means he studied the natural effects of the light).
