FAUNA

 MAMMAL: Brush-tailed phascogale

LENGTH: 35-45cm (male)

HABITAT: Open, well-watered areas of Blue Mountains often on bare ridges.

EATS: Spider & small mice.

DESCRIPTION: sharp foxy face with long slanty eyes & large pointed ears .Its fur is a mottled grey with a light -coloured chest .

 

MAMMAL: Platypus

LENGTH: 45-55cm

HABITAT: along rivers banks & lakes in Blue Mountains.

EATS: Fish, Shrimp & Shellfish.

DESCRIPTION: A duck like snout with nostrils at the tip

of its beak, dark brown water resistant fur & webbed feet.

It has a poisonous spur on its back leg with which it can kill or stun its prey.

MAMMAL: Spotted-tailed Quoll

LENGTH: 75-130cm(male)

HABITAT: Cool,temperate & tropical wet Blue Mountains: rainforest

EATS: Birds, reptiles & insects

DESCRIPTION: Sleek golden brown fur with cream coloured spots & spots on its tail !!!!!!
