Drilling for oil

The picture shows how the drill
goes into the ground and the fluid
takes the cut rock bits up to the
surface.
When the drill has reached the oil,
the drill comes out and the oil flows
up the shaft that has been dug.

What do we use oil for?

By the children of 2W

Oil comes from deep down in the ground.

This picture from Encarta shows an oil rig getting oil from below the ocean floor.

The drill cuts through the rock and lets the oil come up.

The oil is refined in an oil refinery and made into many products we use every day.
