 Francis Michael Forde

He was born Mitchell Queensland on the 18th of July, 1890.

He was educated at Mitchell . He graduated as a teacher from the Christian Brother's College in Toowoomba, Queensland.

After being a teacher for a while he became a engineer.

Francis married Veronica O'Reilly and had four children.

He joined the Australian Labor Party and won a Queensland seat of Rockhampton in 1917.

When John Joseph Curtin died stepped in because he was deputy Prime Minister. At the 6.7.1945 he became the 19th Prime Minister of Australia. His Political Party was Australian Labor.

After 8 days as Prime Minister he was dismissed after Joseph Benedict Chifley defeated him by one vote and became Prime Minister.

He died on the 28th of January 1983 in Brisbane.

When he died he was 93 years old.
