 Gough Whitlam

 

Gough Whitlam was born on the 11th July, 1916 in Kew, Victoria. He was educated at Knox Grammar School in Sydney. He later completed his education in Canberra Grammar School and Sydney University.

Gough was part of the Australian Labor Party. He was Prime Minister for three years and eight months.

While he was Prime Minister he achieved these major things- He joined the Labor Party in 1945, he became a Queens Council in 1962. Then, in 1967 he became the Labor Party's leader.

Gough Whitlam was in the airforce during World War II and had three children. His father was a Commonwealth Crown Solicitor and Gough was Australia's 26th Prime Minister.

Whitlam is still living.
