Joseph Aloysius Lyons

 

Joseph Lyons was born in Stanley, Tasmania on the 15th of September 1879. He graduated as a teacher. After being a teacher for a few years he decided to go into Parliament.

Joseph, while in Parliament was in three different parties. Labor party, National Party and United Australia. Joseph was kicked out of the Labor Party because of disloyalty to his Party.

Some of Joseph's major achievements were strengthening the army, air force and the navy. He also opened the Commonwealth Aircraft Factory.

Joseph was in the office of Prime Minister of Australia for nearly five months.

Joseph died on the 7th of April 1939 in his Sydney Office.
