NATIONAL PARK -
Kosciusko is the largest National Park in New South Wales and contains Mts Kosciusko,Townsend,Twyam and Carruthers; the only peaks in Australia to rise above 7000 feet!
Kosciusko National Park can boast the most extensive snow fields in the Nation!
HISTORY-
About the turn of the century, various reservations were proclaimed in the Kosciusko area for public recreation and the preservation of plants and animals. It was not until 1944, however, that Kosciusko State Park was established. In1967, it was placed under the control of the National Parks and Wildlife service and renamed the Kosciusko National Park.
