Azolla filiculoides is variable in shape due to irregular branching and has thin, broad, much overlapping leaves. Each leaf can be very small and, bunched together, they look like carpet.

HABITAT : It likes to live on the surfaces of slow-moving or stagnant water.

DISTRIBUTION : It occurs all over Australia.
