The Coastal Environment Centre is a Pittwater Council facility which aims to provide environmental information, education and recreation for a broad audience.

Our goal is to increase the understanding and appreciation of the diversity in our natural environment - we have coastal areas, lagoons, creeks and bushland areas - and participate in its conservation.

The staff at the Coastal Environment Centre maintain a supply of reference materials including CD ROMs and videos to help people who want to study the Warriewood Wetlands or other local ecosystems.

In the photo Sandra is helping to display an array of the reference material relating to the Warriewood Wetlands.

The staff also includes trained teachers who can help schools organise excursions in this area and will prepare lesson materials for the students to use.

The staff are cheerful and dedicated and encourage local schools to participate in activities such as streamwatch, bug surveys and the Yellow Fish Road Program.
