DESCRIPTION:

  Gahnias have hollow stems and usually grow up to 2m high and the colour of the spikelets (flowers) are a yellowish brown colour.

 

HABITAT:Damp sandy ground and waterlogged areas.

DISTRIBUTION:Widespread throughout coast and tablelands divisions; also Vic,Tas,Sa,Qld,New Guinea and New Caledonia.

FLOWERING:September-December.
