Rainbow Lorikeet

DESCRIPTION:

These birds have a blue head. They have a red chest with blue-green legs. Their beaks are the shapes of parrots, their feet are gray and their neck is yellowish green. The full back body is green including their wings and tail.  

HABITAT:

These birds live in hollows of trees and they like grass. They gather it and put it in a bundle for their young. This is their type of nest.

DISTRIBUTION:

The Rainbow lorikeet is found in the north and east of Australia and near Perth.

INTERESTING FACTS: 

An interesting fact is they eat nectar from flowers.  They have a great personality and are very smart and intelligent. You can teach them to become very tame.

I have a Lorikeet and he is starting to talk. His name is Screetch.
