PHYSICAL EDUCATION
DEPARTMENT
Elanora State School has a high level of participation in all aspects of sport and physical education. With highly skilled physical education teachers and committed sports coaches, the students at Elanora achieve highly in this area.
Elanora students in years 5 to 7 are encouraged to participate in inter school sport. We have both a summer season competition and a winter season competition. We are currently involved in our winter competition, and a large number of students are participating in sports such as:
Many of our students are selected in district, regional, state and even Australian representative teams in a wide range of sports. Elanora encourages its students to try their best and to show sportsmanship at all times. As a result of this, our students achieve well in their sports, and more importantly - have a great time playing the game!
MUSIC DEPARTMENT
Elanora State School has a strong emphasis on music and instrumental music. Special music classes exist in years 5, 6 and 7. The music program at Elanora caters for musicians of any calibre - from beginners to concert performers. Our program also offers a wide range of bands, groups and ensembles for students to showcase their skills. Some of these are:
The music and instrumental teachers are of the highest quality and devote a great deal of time to enhancing our students' talents. Our students annually participate in the Tropicarnival Eisteddfod and have achieved highly in past years. They also give performances at local shopping centres, special events and school parades.
Elanora has some highly talented music students and strives to provided them with the opportunity to participate in a music program that helps them develop their talents and exposes them to the world of music performance.
