CD Launch - The Glossop High School Groovers are in tune with our Community

The Glossop High School Music Department is proud to announce its major project for 2008.

In July, our School Band “The Glossop Groovers” travelled to Adelaide to record a CD of uplifting music. Proceeds from the sales of our CD will be distributed, via the Country Women’s Association, to members of our Riverland community who are suffering in the face of drought. We are very proud of our music students and look forward to this opportunity to share their gifts and talents with our community.

This project has been made possible by an Australian Scholarships Group grant presented to our Music Department when Kirralee Baldock was awarded a National Excellence in Teaching Award in 2007.

The CD is being launched on the 27th August and they will be available to purchase from the 28th of August.

The CD's may be purchased for $15 from the following outlets:

Previous information on this project

The Riverland is well known for its fruit growing industries and as a tourist destination. The drought has greatly affected the Riverland community and Glossop High School wants to help!

The Glossop High School band, the “Glossop Groovers” have performed at many community events. The Groovers would like to help the Riverland community by recording a cd of uplifting music. The proceeds of sales will be distributed to Riverlanders most affected by the drought. An experiment from 1967 indicated that we are all 6 steps away from knowing a famous person or celebrity. We would like you to help us in this theory to see if we can get famous people to help us with our cause.

If you can help, please call Glossop High School on (08) 85832004
