Continental
Glossop High's Continental is held in the fourth week of the school year. Students are encouraged to participate in the school's major fundraiser by selling raffle tickets, with incentives for the class that sells the most. Two weeks of fundraising and organisation culminate in the Continental itself, an evening of food, entertainment and more fundraising. Students are split into houses, which compete to earn the most money; a trophy being awarded to the successful house. Fierce rivalry is generated in the community, with many people being quite discerning about which house they will give money to. The school raises approximately $30,000 from each Continental.
