Our best one ....
Rainbow Fish knew he was in trouble- the shark continued to circle , only now he thrust his long snout into the entrance of the dark cave each time he passed. Rainbow Fish knew he couldn't stay there
forever. He began to tremble with fear. Next he began to cry ."Who will help me?" he called in a terrified voice .
Soon, a deep voice came from a dark corner ."Move back Rainbow Fish I am here to help you ." Rainbow thought -I know that voice .
Yes, you guessed it. It was the Octopus .
This was one of the caves that he visited to get peace .
The next time that Shamus Shark poked his snout into the cave entrance, Octopus was waiting and aimed a huge jet of his ink into Shamus's eyes . You should have heard the fuss !
"Thank you  Thank you. Thank you again Octopus"
Rainbow Fish called, as he quickly darted off.
'I will always remember your wise words and how
you saved my life. You are my hero from now on ."

through a hole in the cave (Drew)
trick the shark into going away and then escape

Flagstone Rappers had these great solutions:
IDEA ONE:   'Whack!' 'Whack!' and 'Thump!' your tail
Rainbow Fish.  make a hole in the cave and you will be able
to trick the shark and swim to safety.

IDEA TWO:   Rainbow Fish could use his super fishy
skills, take a piece of seaweed, tie up the shark making
sure you use a reef knot and then Rainbow Fish will be
free!

IDEA THREE:   When Rainbow Fish has been missing
for quite some time, his new ocean friends will come
looking for him, find that he is trapped, devise a plan
to distract the shark and Rainbow Fish will be able to
escape!

IDEA FOUR:   Rainbow Fish could wait for the shark to
circle past the entrance of the cave.  Rainbow Fish
could then swim out behind the shark and chase
after on another.  As they are circling around the
cave, the waves grow bigger and bigger to make a
whirl pool.  The shark is blown out of the water and
Rainbow Fish is safe to shimmer his way to safety!

IDEA FIVE:  (THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE)
Rainbow Fish could be brave and proud by taking
his last glittering silver scale and throwing it out
the entrance of the cave.  When the shark is
distracted by the shimmering light of the scale,
Rainbow Fish will be able to escape and swim to
safety!
Hello from the Carbrook Raging Dolphins.
The Rainbow Fish is trapped in a DARK, GLOOMY cave. The Rainbow Fish is scared and knows it is in BIG, BIG TROUBLE. How is the Rainbow Fish going to get out? The shark was going around and around. The Rainbow Fish tried to scare the shark by telling him that there was something nasty behind him.  But that did not work! What could he do? The Rainbow Fish tried digging it's way out but the shovel broke and it's fin got very
tired. He tried pinching the shark but the shark's skin was toooooo tough. The Rainbow Fish tried to swim around the shark but got frightened and swam back into the cave.
Finally the Rainbow Fish had an Idea.  TING!!!!!! He took off his shiny scale and put it on a piece of coral. The Rainbow Fish threw it onto the ground and the shark thought he had dinner but he didn't and the Rainbow Fish got out.  The Rainbow Fish just got out as the other fish came looking for it.  They were going to try and rescue the Rainbow Fish.

Idea 1
Rainbow could dress up with seaweed as a poisonous octopus and then swim away.
 Idea 2
He could say to the shark, "Look over there.  There's a lot of fish to eat." and then Rainbow would escape.
 We hope you enjoy reading some of our exciting rescue stories for Rainbow Fish from the Woodhill Rainbow Rappers.
We thought about the horrible situation that Rainbow Fish was in and we came up with a lot of different ways for him to escape. Here are a few of our best solutions. The Rainbow Fish made a fish out of rocks and leaves and he hoped that the shark would eat it. When the shark ate it he sunk and the Rainbow Fish could escape.~Andrew
 The Rainbow Fish' friends came into the cave by a secret door and told Rainbow Fish their plan. (The plan is for some of the fish to go in the middle of an anchor and try to get the shark into the anchor). So the shark fell for the plan and got caught. The shark was never to be seen again. ~ Ellen
 Rainbow Fish was calling for his friend Godzilla. THe shark saw something coming. It was only some coral. Just then, a huge mouth came out of the rock! It was Godzilla! Godzilla chased away the shark. Rainbow Fish and his friends were safe once more. ~ Daniel.
 Rainbow Fish was so strong that he could life a 10 tonne whale. Every fish loved him. He chucked a whale at the shark and frightened the shark away. ~Hayley
 The Rainbow Fish got his friend the Tiger Shark to eat the Grey Nurse Shark. ~ Dudley.

1. If octopus was in the cave with the rainbow fish he could scare the
shark away
2. When the rainbow fish found some food he would give it to the shark.
When the  shark was finished eating he would be full.
3. Maybe there is a back way out of  the cave.
4. The rainbow fish could call his friends to help him.
How will Rainbow Fish escape from the cave? Crestmead rappers came up with some colourful solutions. Maybe there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for Rainbow Fish.

Use coral and seaweed as camouflage to leave the cave
Look for another exit Make a net from seaweed to throw over the shark to trap him Swim straight at the shark and then in the last second jump over him. Swim under him. Bite his tail after swimming round and round him. Swim fast towards the coral, then dart away at the last minute so that the shark will crash into the coral. Swim into a narrow hollow.
Call his friends for help.
Cover himself with dirt so that the shark cannot smell him.  Then swim swiftly away.
Find something else for the shark to eat like a dead fish or plankton. While the shark is eating that rainbow fish can get away Throw a heavy rock on the shark's nose so that it loses its sense of smell for a minute then rainbow fish can make his escape Swim around and make the shark dizzy
Make a rope from seaweed, throw it over the shark and then tie him down Dig a hole in the ground and tunnel out
Yell HELP!!
Go out and fight like a man.
Rainbow Fish could make friends with the shark
If there is a hole in the cave, go through it.
See if there is anyone else in the cave that can help him.
Camouflage himself.
Change his smell and pretend to be a plant.
If a sword fish was in the cave he could use it as a sword and fight his way out.
Make a trap for the shark.
Call to his friends.
