Rap Point One
:-
Drip drop! Are you ready to board our ship of fishy fun?
The response to our book wrap has been overwhelming. We are very excited to have so many
schools of fish diving into our ocean. For your splashing pleasure, here is the
first Book Rap Point to sink yourselves into.
The Rainbow Fish was a very unique fish. He had sparkling silver scales, bright
colours and long elegant fins. Your school of fish need to dive into the ocean
and discover another unusual or rare sea creature. All fishy friends could
research their own creature. Your class could then vote on the sea animal that
will be featured on the Rainbow Site. Please present your research as either a
description, poem, narrative or any other genre you prefer.
If your school is lucky enough to have a scanner please send a a drawing to Jane Carr at:
jcarr@thehub.com.au
and your special creature will be put here. (You could also draw a picture in a paint program and send it as an
attachment). There are lots of great Internet Links
on the Teachers Fishy Fun section. Find your unusual creature at one of these sites.
If you have time create your own extraordinary class sea creature. Make sure you give it a name and describe its special features.

A gallery of Sea Creatures will be
displayed on this website with your student's replies to the rap point.
Rap Point Three
A fishy problem for your students to solve completes the rap.
Rap Rap Rap Up
The rap will only last 4-5 weeks but hopefully your students will be
challenged to think creatively and critically. Friends will be made and "The Rainbow
Fish" will become a remembered favourite story of our students.
Activities have been designed to help integrate the theme into other
curriculum areas.
The activities page will also feature some excellent uses of the Internet
with Subject Samplers and Treasure
Hunts. The following website will be features in many of these Internet activities.
