KANGAROO MAGIC ![]()
Once upon a time not very long ago deep in the Australian bush lived two kangaroos. Their names were Skippy and Grandma Kanga. Grandma Kanga made bush magic.
Grandma Kanga made foxes smile and koalas pink. She also made kingfishers blue aand hares shrink.
But the BEST MAGIC OF ALL WAS THE MAGIC THAT MADE SKIPPY INVISIBLE !!! Skippy could be safe from snakes and that's why Grandma Kanga made her invisible.
Then one night Skippy said, "Grandma Kanga I want to see what I look like."
So the next night Grandma Kanga looked in every magic book of hers but she could not find the spell. The next day Grandma Kanga said, "It's something to do with people food, not kangaroo food."
So the next thing they did was packed up and travelled to Canberra where they found some carrots. Skippy took a bit out of it but nothing happened.
Then they went to Melbourne where Grandma Kanga found some apples. Skippy nibbled on one but still nothing happened. Grandma Kanga was getting worried by this time.
So they set sail across Bass Strait to Hobart where Skippy saw some lettuce growing on a farm. "Maybe this is the right food," she thought. But after eating a whole lettuce nothing happened.
Back across the ocean they sailed again to Adelaide where Grandma Kanga found some tomatoes left over from a salad.
"Try this," said Grandma Kanga, " I'm sure this will help make you visible!"
Surprise! Surprise! Suddenly Skippy's tail appeared!
"Wonderful!" exclaimed Grandma Kanga, "Let's head off to Perth."
On a beach in Perth they found a piece of cucumber tossed off a hamburger.
"Maybe this will help," said Grandma Kanga. So Skippy ate it in one gulp. Suddenly his back legs appeared.
"Wow, I've got some legs!" yelled Skippy.
"Quick, let's get going to Darwin and see what we can find there," said Grandma Kanga.
They caught an aeroplane to Darwin to save time. In a schoolyard, Skippy found a peanut butter sandwich.
"I wonder if this might help?" said Skippy. Soon he had eaten the sandwich. In a flash, Skippy's front legs had appeared.
"How grand," said Grandma Kanga, " all we have to do now is to find the right food to make your body and head appear."
Skippy was starting to get a picture of what she looked like by looking in the water.
Next stop was Brisbane after an exhausting trip on a bus. From a pizza shop Grandma Kanga bought a pineapple pizza.
"Taste this," she said to Skippy. He thought it was delicious and guess what happened, his body suddenly became visible!
"Gee, we only have to find the right food to make your head appear," exclaimed Grandma Kanga.
Off to Sydney by train, they went in a big hurry.
"I can't wait," said Skippy, "I'm nearly completely visible."
While walking along the beach at Bondi they found a packet of potato chips.
"Try these," said Grandma Kanga. Skippy thought that they were delicious. In less than a minute his head appeared.
Grandma Kanga suddenly said," I can see your head! Skippy it has worked. You are completely visible. Let's have a party!"
Grandma Kanga and Skippy danced and sang until early in the morning
because they were so happy that Skippy was completly VISIBLE again! ![]()
