THE SALT WATER CROCODILE

 

A salt water crocodile is a large green scaly reptile. It has sharp teeth and a long tail. It swims in rivers near the sea and sometimes in the sea itself.Why it is dangerous: This crocodile is one of two species in the world that are known to kill people without provocation (without them annoying the crocodile).HUNTING: When the crocodile is still young it will snap at anything that moves. As it gets older it will attack turtles, fish, birds, rats and reptiles. The salt water crocodile has a good sense of smell.
FOOD: It eats whole fish and animals that live in the water.HABITAT: It lives around the northern coast of Australia. SIZE & WEIGHT: It grows up to 8 metres long and weighs up to 1000kg, (1 tonne).
