
THE BLUE RING
OCTOPUS IS A
DANGEROUS AND
POISONOUS SEA
CREATURE.
DESCRIPTION:
It has two big salivary venom
glands above its head. It can
be found in rock pools along the coastal areas of Australia
Length: 2-20cm, with tentacles extended.
Weight: 10-100gms
Tentacles: 8 with suckers
When disturbed the colours darken and the rings turn
bright blue.
HUNTING: When hunting a sea creature the octopus sprays its poisonous saliva. The sea creature absorbs the poison and becomes paralysed within minutes allowing the octopus to seize it.
WARNING: WHEN PLAYING NEAR ROCK POOLS
BE CAREFUL!!!! YOU MIGHT SEE A BLUE RING
OCTOPUS. IF YOU DO KEEP AWAY!!!!
