Knox Gardens Primary School is in Wantirna. Wantirna is a part of Melbourne which is the capital city of Victoria, a state in Australia. If you look at a map of Australia it is in the bottom, right hand corner. Knox Gardens is a very big place. There are about 650 children and 35 teachers at our school. We have seven year levels that go from Prep to Year Six.
We have excellent teachers and a great Principal. We do lots of fun things. The teachers care for us kids and for each other.
Knox Gardens is a fantastic school. We learn exciting things in our classes. We go to Art, Music and Phys. Ed.. We have a great library full of interesting books. We go on camps and excursions. Education is great fun here!
We have a piece of land in our school that we call the Bushland. It has been left the same as the land here was before our school was built. We can see what it looked like before we were here. There are lots of animals that have their homes in there. There are rosellas, spiders, lizards, cockatoos, galahs and lots of other creatures. There are gum trees, bushes and other plants that grow in there. We have a Bushland Committee that look after it.
We have four great playgrounds for different aged children to play on. We also have a fitness track and lots of other fun things to do. We like playing with our friends. We LOVE playtimes.
We are very excited about using computers and surfing the "Net". Its terrific being able to talk to children on the other side of the world and send them messages in a flash. We are involved in projects like The Teddy Bear Exchange and writing projects. We are learning more about it all the time.
