Some interesting facts:

1. Scorpions are from the spider family.

2. They have four pairs of eyes but cannot see very well.

3. They have eight legs and two claws.

4. They grow from 2.5cm to 20cm in length.

5. They live mainly in desert areas.

6. The scorpion can live without water for several months.

7. They mainly come out at night to hunt.

8. They are usually brown in colour so that they can blend into the desert.

9. They eat mainly spiders and insects.

10. They can go without food for up to a year.

11. All scorpions can inject poison from the sting at the end of their tail.

12. After mating the female sometimes kills and eats the male scorpion.

13. Female scorpions give birth to live young and look after them by carrying them around on their back.

14. It takes a year for a baby scorpion to become an adult.
