| Elena's Cyclone Story |
| One morning at 8.00 a.m. my family and I heard on the news that a cyclone was coming. We started to prepare for the cyclone. We filled the bath tub with water and sticky taped the windows and doors. It also said on the news that the cyclone was going to be very powerful and might destroy a quarter to a half of our town. |
| When it was nearly 12:15 p.m. we heard strong winds from outside. We gathered our family into the smallest room in the house. When the cyclone was finished, our house was destroyed. There was water on the ground. The water was up to my knees. Luckily we had clean water in the bath tub, but it was a little dirty. We boiled it and had a cup of tea. |
| We waited for a rescue helicopter to take us to safety. Some people came to clean the town. It was very scary. |
