TREE PLANTING
Each year all the students who enter first
grade at the primary school plant a tree. The student is then
encouraged to look after that tree until they leave the school.
Trees are selected from the range of
Australian Natives grown at the Beaudesert City Council and the Logan
City Council. These trees are donated by these Councils. These trees
have greatly improved the local environment making it a pleasure for
both students and the native fauna.
The surrounding area was once cleared for
farmland to raise cattle. The replanting of the school has seen seven
native species of birds return to make nests and raise their young.
Native bees and several species of frogs and lizards have also become
established in the school grounds.
