Mooloolah

Queensland

Australia

Mooloolah is a country town situated 20 km west of Caloundra and 80 km north of Brisbane. Mooloolah has won the Tidy Towns Competition three times in a row.

We are very proud of our clean, safe, rural town.

-Jessica, Yr 5, 1999

Our Schools

Mooloolah Community Kindy

The Kindy provides quality early childhood education for children aged 3 to 5 years of age. The Kindy is a community-based non-profit organisation that is affiliated, licensed and registered.

Mooloolah Pre-School

The pre-school is the beginning of school for our 4 - 5 year olds. In the playground they have exciting outdoor equipment and inside they have a bright classroom where they colour in, use computers, sing, do puzzles and paint.

-Nicky V, Yr 5, 1999

At Mooloolah State Preschool we aim to provide a rich environment which will foster and develop in the children self-confidence, independence, working relationships with others, group participation, skills with hands and body, positive attitudes towards thinking and learning and an understanding of the world- and, thus ...plant the seeds of the future.

Opened in 1894

The original Mooloolah State School is still used by special groups of students.

In 1985 the new Mooloolah State School opened on its current site.

Our tranquil rural valley provides a magnificent surround for learning.

We have a small and friendly school with just over 300 students, aged 5 to 13. We know our students as individuals. We aim to provide rich curriculum experiences that engage the students as active, innovative learners.

Vice Captains: L to R, Tom, Laine, Rebecca and Matthew

Year 5 students conduct a science experiment in their double classroom learning area.

Through the rainforest development, our students have learned about caring for the environment. Mooloolah is a better place because of their efforts. We hope they will carry these lessons with them as they continue their learning when they leave Mooloolah State School.

Students under a huge Moreton Bay Fig tree next to the old school. Notice the huge epiphyte clinging to the tree. It is as big as the students altogether.

Travel Buddies

Sammie is our travel buddy from California resting on a palm in our rainforest. Our school sent Dinkum, a brushtail possum, to see what life was like on the other side of the world.

The Resource Centre is a place where we find information we need. In the library there are computers, lots of books, book fairs and competitions. Spiders are the current Book Week theme.

The tuckshop is a favourite place on Mondays and Thursdays. It is a place where you get your lunch. The people there are very friendly and make lovely food.

-Brad, Yr 5, 1999

This is Mooloolah's community pool. It is in the school grounds. There is a swim squad after school with a local coach.
