The Arma Lucis Community

As the golden 50th anniversary of Mount Saint Joseph approaches, we are all being given the opportunity to be a part of something truly special. The newly founded ‘Arma Lucis Ex-students Association’ is the beginning of a new era. One where we daughters of Saint Joseph can reclaim our place within the MSJ family, meet with new and old friends, share our experiences and expertise and enjoy the company of other wonderful women who have remained MSJ girls at heart.

If you were to ask this years graduating year twelve class what they would miss the most about Mount Saint Joseph it probably would not be any one moment or person, rather it would most likely be the comforting sense that you are a part of something greater than yourself. You are a member of a family that good times or bad would always be there to cheer you on and catch you when you fall. Life has a way of distracting us from the simple pleasures we enjoy in our youth and whether you left decades ago or only last week, there is a place reserved especially for you here within the MSJ family.

Already the organising committee, encompassing representatives from the very first graduating class through to last years graduates, are making plans for upcoming social events, developing ties with the school community and working towards the 50th anniversary celebrations for 2010. You may not feel you have much to share with old school friends, or perhaps you really cannot see the point of going back but good times or bad, regardless of when you walked the halls or where you are now, you are a page in the history of Mount Saint Joseph and it will not be the same without you. Besides, it’s never too late to come back home.
So please contact us, share your ideas and keep watching our web page for updates.

Anyone who would like to volunteer their time or skills to any degree, please feel free to let us know.
We welcome anyone with enthusiasm!

Hi, my name is Karin Aguila-Yusuf (nee Aguila, graduated in 1990). I am currently working for the ‘which bank’ in Project Management.

My role within the ALESA is the President, although I don’t have a red button! I am really excited to be apart of this committee and to have the opportunity to build an ongoing network of MSJ girls from 1960 until today.

I attended MSJ 1969-1972. I am married with 1 son. I am still in touch with many girls (ladies) from school and we meet up for lunch every month at different venues and have the occasional evening out.

After leaving MSJ I worked for a few years before I moved to London where I was able to work and travel extensively for 5 years.
Since my return I have worked in stockbroking.
