Focus KLA's Possible Activities
SOSE, HPE, English Unit: Our Place in the Sun - (a) a class computer presentation about the Queensland lifestyle - the places and people. (b) a short piece of poetry published with the inclusion of clip art. (c) email exchange with another Queensland school. (d) simple postcard production - digital camera photos and short descriptive writing tasks.
Technology, SOSE Unit: The Material World - (a) a short written report on a natural material (timber, cotton etc) and its uses in our lives (b) a class computer presentation (recount) on a visit to a local area primary industry processing plant/authority (eg Dept of Forestry for Pine Plantations) including digital photos 
HPE, Science, English Unit: 'I Eat Today, I Am Tomorrow' - (a) a simple published poster on healthy eating using a paint program. (b) accessing a suitable CD ROM or web site to support their learning. (c) a creative story of someone who did not eat well - eg 'Junk Food Jimmy' and the troubles that person had.
Science, English Unit: Reptilian 'Rap-Up' - (a) a class produced small web site on reptiles in the local area, with pictures, small stories and descriptions (b) a computer presentation recount of a visit to a reptile park including digital photos (c) email exchange with an expert on reptiles as a follow up to a school visit to a wildlife park.
Science, SOSE, HPE Unit: A Place in Space - (a) access to CD ROM materials to learn of space and gather pictures and information (b) a class slide show on the planets in the solar system (c) a published poetry book of Space Poems developed by the class. (d) published 'postcards from space' collection developed by students with paint packages, photos from web etc - fictitious colonies on planets.
