Have
you ever had such a good friend that you felt like you’re part of each
other? If you have then this is the book for you!
Ron
Brooks produced the most fascinating illustrations in this unusual picture
book. Instead of using brushes and pencils as most illustrators do, he
used an incredible range of tools such as oil paint, oil sticks, bits of
wire, dental tools and many more. Even
the text is done by hand.
This
moving story is based on two friends, Dog and Magpie who need each other
more than anything else.
Margaret
Wild cleverly creates a story that contains friendship and betrayal.
But
when Fox arrives and Magpie must choose to stay with Dog or to go with
Fox. Will she choose the right one?
This
fascinating picture book would be great for Years 5 to 9. Margaret Wild
and Ron Brooks have worked together an other popular books such as Old Pig and, Rosie and
Tortoise.

'Fox' -
a Review by Brittany
The
story is about a dog and a magpie who are very close friends and along
comes a fox who tries to take magpie away from dog and finally she said
yes. But fox leaves magpie in the desert and she begins her journey home
back to her friend Dog.
This
book made me feel that I should change the way I treat people.
I
really enjoyed this book because all of the colours and pictures on every
page. It also made me feel like I was there.
