| 'Faust's
Party' - a review by Stephanie
Written
and Illustrated by Matt Ottley. Have
you ever gone out thinking you’d left your lovable pooch home alone for a
day? Well,
that is exactly what happens in Faust’s Party the follow up to the
successful story “What Faust Saw”. Faust’s family leave Faust and the
house alone for a day… well
so they think. Faust,
a rather cheeky sausage dog, gets up to a lot of mischief, taking us on a
whole new adventure each time he’s in a spectacular book by Matt Ottley.
This time Faust gets into a lot more trouble than he already has. This book
is excellent. I particularly enjoyed the new surprise every time you turn
the page. Matt
Ottley has done a spectacular job with the illustrations using wonderful colours
that just make your imagination run wild. Matt Ottley uses oil paints to
produce a wild range of colours that make the characters and everything
around them appear so realistic. I recommend Faust’s Party for ages 5 to 8. And after reading it, I’m sure you’ll want to keep a watchful eye on your dog. Reviewed
