It is easy to become a 'Boomer'. Here is a list of instructions.

  1. Read, read, read! Talk about your book with a friend as you read it.

  2. Write a review of the book when you have finished - follow the link at the left under the 'BOOM' logo for instructions on how to write a simple review.

  3. Use a computer to type your review and save it as a text file, so it is easily put into email and web pages. Make sure you carefully proofread your work and check it for spelling errors. Have a friend read your review and tell you what they think. It should be the best you can do - remember many students from other schools will be reading it!

  4. Email your review to the 'BOOM' email list which your class and other classes are subscribed to. Ensure your teacher has organised a form for you from this site to have your work appear on the internet.

  5. Watch for your review to appear on the web site. Allow a week or so.  All entries will be checked to ensure they are suitable and in some cases, may be slightly edited.

  6. Read the reviews written by other students - you may like to compare their ideas with yours if the review is about the same book. You may email to the list to discuss any reviews you have read.

  7. If you read a review about a book that sounds great, you may decide to read that book yourself!
