OLGC has a training band and a concert band. Children are eligible to enrol in training band from Year Three. Children move into or are enrolled in the concert band once they satisfy the criteria outlined within our band program. Children involved in each band rehearse one morning per week before school.

The school has two band directors - one per band. Instruments can be purchased privately by the children, hired from the school or hired from an outside provider. Each child is required to attend a half hour instrument tutoring lesson per week in addition to band rehearsal. The school provides a list of tutors to parents who arrange sessions during the school day or after school hours.

The band has opportunities to perform at school functions, local eisteddfods or on special occasions.
