6. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION

Climate and weather is of vital importance for agriculture. And without agricultural production we wouldn't be as well off as we are. Farmers need to adjust their management in accordance with the weather and climate they receive and to tailor it specifically to their particular enterprises.

At the beginning I said we'd be better able to complete these learning outcomes as a result of completing this module.

By working with this guide, students should be better able to:

define climate and weather and explain their importance to sustainable agriculture

examine the relationship between living and non living components of ecosystems depending on climate and weather for sustainable agricultural production

identify and discuss different affects of climate and weather on agricultural production

explain the importance of monitoring climate and weather systems in a variable climate for sustainable agricultural production

appreciate the difficulties of agricultural production in a place where there is variable climate and weather

develop their scientific literacy, and in particular their use of terminology relevant to climate, weather and agriculture.

participate in the use of classroom applications of relevant scientific data (eg climate, weather and agricultural records).

discuss the social implications of climate, weather and agriculture.

How well has it been achieved? If you've answered not well in any of those outcomes, perhaps you should re-do that particular section. If this module has been of some help, giving feedback to the editors of the series would be a good step.

Happy educating.
