Monster Project

The year four children in room 10 and the 3rd graders in Ms. Bright's after school magnet computer class in Fremont Elementary School, Bakersfield, California, illustrated monsters and wrote descriptions of the monsters. We then exchanged descriptions by e-mail and illustrated each others monsters. Read about our monster and draw a picture of what you think it would look like. You can click on the monster in the window at the beginning of each description to see our drawings.

"Students try to communicate an original monster image into another child's mind using learned writing skills and technology."

The monster descriptions and pictures are in 4 groups. Click on a group to go there.

Jenaya

My monster has red silver coloured eyes - the red is in square shapes. It has big sharp teeth with blood coming out the side. He has 6 blue, green and red coloured wiggly arms coming out the side. He has a green slimy snake shaped tail. It has 2 big red slimy wiggly legs. It drinks blood with milk. It eats spiders.

Peter

My ugly monster - it's tongue has a snake coming out of it, even on its toes. It has eyeballs all over it. It has green horns on its bulky looking head. It has scars all over it. There are 2 patches on his knees. Its muscles are big and bulky and it can shoot fireballs out of its mouth. Its hands are big snakes that eat everyone up. Its feet are sharp claws with eyeballs on them.

monsterJordan

My monster has 11 leaves on its stomach and red around the leaves and green around the red. It has a purple head with fly eyes. It has wings, one set on the left is brown and the set on the right is orange. It has 4 antenas, one set of big ones on the outside and one set of small ones with alfoil on the end. It has human feet and fly teeth. The tummy is really, really interestingly coloured in crayon.

Ranka

My monster has shiny silvery eyes and it spits fire. It is a friendly monster. My monster has a furry tummy and is green. He is a decorated monster. You would like him. He has a carton nose. My monster is like an insect.
