Technology Focus Project

North Parmelia Primary has been selected as one of fifteen Technology Focus Schools in Western Australia. The Technology Focus Project will run for three years, 1997 - 1999.

The purpose of the Technology Focus Schools project is to enable schools to:

We are very aware that for the successful integration of technology into all aspects of the learning environment, staff and students together will become learners, facilitators and coaches. Our Technology Plan and Vision reflect this awareness and hence cater for the needs of both staff and students.

Silvana's lesson plan for cooperative learning on intranet -Weeks 1-10 Term 1. Goal setting, levels of questioning, staff show/tell. Robert Plumb booked Thursday 28th January (am). Silvana booked for inservicing staff Friday 29th January. Induct staff on value of children sitting in groups. 6 thinking hats, goal setting, levels of questioning.

Official Web Site Launch

On Thursday November 6th we were honoured to have our web site officially launched by Lane Clark, an internationally renowned speaker from River Oaks School in Canada. This web site is still being developed, and provides an important global audience for the children and teachers at our school.

Professional Development

North Parmelia staff have gained considerable skills in the use of information technology during 1997. During 1998, staff will continue to develop their skills in software applications and peripheral devices (digital camera, scanners), however the main emphasis will focus on the integration of the technologies into the teaching and learning program.
