In a time long ago Emu and Brolga lived together. They didn't look the same because Brolga had a small neck and a small beak. Emu had big wings and could fly.

One day Brolga went fishing and Emu went hunting. Brolga got a lot of fish. Emu got nothing. Brolga ate all the fish.

Emu got angry and had an argument with him. He speared him up his neck and his beak. Emu tried to fly away but Brolga threw a spear at Emu's wings. The spear cut off his wings. So he had to run all the way to Central Arnhem Land. His legs grew big.

Later he had a bath in a billabong and he died there.
